What it is

Big turned-acrylic vacuum filler carrying a #8 nib. Shares its nib size — and, per one reviewer, actual nib interchangeability — with Majohn's P140.

For and against

  • Oversize #8 nib
  • Vacuum fill with a large capacity
  • Turned acrylic bodies
  • Large enough that it won't suit small hands
  • Limited availability outside marketplace sellers

The natural rival to the Majohn P140 — vacuum instead of piston, same oversize-nib appeal.

What owners say

I believe the V800 is one of Asvine's thickest and largest pens, it's definitely on the extreme end of sizing and won't work for everybody. You might prefer the V126, which is smaller. The poor filling and nib leaking is unfortunate, though. Sounds like something is not fitted right on your example. r/fountainpens · 22 pts · thread
The v800 is too big for me so besides that no comment on it Now... On the J16, GOATED PEN IN TITANIUM!!! Great nib, piston works flawlessly, I've never had a problem nor hard start, 2 weeks capped and wrote without a problem (i never tested any longer bcs I want to use it lol. I myself don't see a reason to get the ebonite version (I don't like the marbled finish on this pen), r/fountainpens · 11 pts · thread
I have all of these pens. They are all good but the V800 is absolutely amazing and my favorite steel nibbed fountain pen in my collection. r/fountainpens · 6 pts · thread
Honestly I already have a V800, love it, and an M140 is next on my list. Now if only Majohn were making a #8 flex nib… r/fountainpens · 5 pts · thread
If you enjoy stubs I recommend you to get an asvine v800 replacemnet nib. It is compatible with the P140 ebonite feed and it's an absolute joy. I did this on my P139 and I don't want to go back r/fountainpens · 5 pts · thread
I love my V800. Asvine has been killing the pen game the last couple of years and this is my first #8 nib, it’s hard going back to my standard 6s and dang near impossible to go back to the dinky #5 on Kawecos r/fountainpens · 4 pts · thread
