For and against

  • Metal body with real heft
  • Iridescent/rainbow finishes are genuinely eye-catching
  • Standard #6 nib unit — JoWo swaps reported to fit
  • Heavy for long sessions
  • Coating durability on the iridescent finishes is an open question

The V126's mechanism in a metal suit — buy it for the finish, not for a different writing experience.

What owners say

Interesting. Asvine V200 and P36 have been super reliable for me and a few colleagues. What ink are you using? And how do you clean them? r/fountainpens · 11 pts · thread
Looks great! The Asvine V200 is a worthy candidate for an anodizing project with all that beautiful titanium trim. Well done & thanks for sharing. r/fountainpens · 10 pts · thread
btw, many people forget that they need to unscrew the safety valve to write sustainably! Otherwise, the ink in the nib feed eventually depletes. I had that usage problem when I started with the V200. I now have several different pen models with that safety block and I am used to it but the V200 was the one where I learned to use those types of pens. And it’s great for travel: no “burps” during flights. r/fountainpens · 6 pts · thread
I can't speak to the V200 specifically but both of the other vac fillers I have do this. I'm pretty sure it just comes down to how the end cap is attached to the rod. It also wouldn't shock me if Asvine has a slightly wider tolerance for quality control when it comes to little things like that. Either way I wouldn't worry about it r/fountainpens · 6 pts · thread
My Asvine V126 is possibly my favourite pen, but my Asvine V200 my least favourite since it's like writing with a baseball bat. Sadly, this looks like more like the latter to me r/fountainpens · 4 pts · thread
Asvine J16 is a real sleeper. One of the best pens I own. It's heavier than an ECO, 30g vs 21g. If the weight doesn't bother you and you don't mind buying from communist China, I highly recommend the J16. I don't have a V200, but it weighs approximately the same as the J16. r/fountainpens · 4 pts · thread
