For

  • Large converter
  • Posts better than the 9019
  • Comfortable for medium hands
  • Very cheap
  • Solid, durable metal build

  • Light despite its girth
  • Cap posts deeply and securely
  • Many colours
  • #8 nib at a very low price
  • Large screw-in converter

Against
  • Converter is a Jinhao screw-in type
  • Early units shipped with the older nib
  • Heavy (about 45-50 g), tiring for long sessions
  • Tapered metal section can be slippery
  • Friction-fit section can loosen after cleanings
  • Wide grip, not for every hand
  • Small push-fit converter
  • Not a pocket pen despite being 'compact'
  • Very thick barrel; too big for some hands
  • Posts poorly because of its length
  • Nib quality varies between units
